At the beginning of the ride the rollercoaster has only a little KE because it is moving very little. The GPE it is not high off the ground, so the rollercoaster has very low GPE. At point 1 the GPE is at it's highest peak. There is a little KE because the speed is little. At point 2 the KE is at the highest peak because it just went down a fairly large hill. The GPE is very small because it is closer to the ground. At point 4 the GPE is higher up because it is higher off of the ground. The KE is really small right now because the speed is slow. The connection between is the opposite because as GPE is going down, the KE is increasing.
